Naming Your Baby Is Half The Fun
By tom57 on July 2, 2009
In today’s society having a unique name that will set your child apart from all the rest has become a priority. Growing up it wasn’t unheard of to have two, three, or even four kids in your classroom that had the same name. You know what I am talking about. How many of us grew up with a Bill, Billy, William, or Will in our classrooms? Ultimately coming up with unique names for boys is much harder than for girls. When you are naming your baby girl the goal is usually something beautiful to your ears, special in its spelling, and often times rich with meaning. When it comes to naming boys, it is hard to break away from traditional names and still be as masculine as Richard or Steven.
As a parent you want your children to appreciate everything you do for them, including giving them the name that they will use for the rest of their lives. Whether it has sentimental value, or is a tradition, naming a baby boy, in my opinion, is quite a bit harder than naming a girl. I have to boys, and I was determined to give them a name that was unique to not only them, but possibly the world. I know without a doubt that my boys have names that nobody has heard of, and I do get complimented on their names originality quite often. I wanted my boys to experience life the way I did.
I was given a unique name 32 years ago by my mother who chose my name from a book of unusual children’s names. No, my name wasn’t unheard of, nor was it made up; it was just an obscure name that to date has never made it on the most popular baby names list. It was however a name that my mother loved and is one of the best things my mother has ever done for me. My name is what has helped define me as a person, it not only helped me create my own identity, but it brought me attention that none of my friends were privy to. It helped me learn patience with people who couldn’t pronounce my name, and it gave me a story to tell for the rest of my life. Yes I love my unique name, and I hope that my boys appreciate and love theirs.

Wreaths, Trees, and Christmas Flowers
By editor on December 22, 2008
Finishing touches can be made with wreaths, decorative trees, and Christmas Flowers. Miniature and decorated Christmas trees are perfect for an office desk and wreaths in all sizes can be hung in many locations. And the reality of live evergreens is their superiority in looks and the true, Christmas inspired smell of the needles.
Children would love to find or make small ornaments for these trees and wouldn’t one in the children’s room be a source of fantasy and delight for them? A little girl could have visions of sugarplums and fairies dancing in her head in no time as she drifts off to sleep.
A little boy may love to find and make small toys such as tiny cars or twine some string around some of his own small toys and hang them on a tree in his room.
Why not get your neighbors and friends together and have a miniature ornament making party? You could add the ornaments to the trees you get from 1-800-Flowers, or even hang them as additions on the site’s wreaths. If you did buy an extra gift basket for yourself while you were ordering baskets for friends, you could serve hot cocoa and eat all the goodies at your party. If you also purchased your Christmas Flowers and Poinsettias at 1-800-Flowers your friends will surely ask about them.
Clustering some red Poinsettias in your lobby or lining them up your staircase would be a sight to welcome guests over the holiday period. Christmas trees and wreaths and all the attendant decorations, especially red bows and evergreens, just shout out Christmas, don’t you think. And what about using miniature white lights around your staircase? They would look great with those potted poinsettias.
The wreaths they have at 1-800-Flowers come in all sizes. Measure all the spaces where you might hang some on your walls, and take a look on site to see what may fit best, and what colors will go with your décor. They are all decorated differently.
Don’t forget about pinecones when completing your Christmas decorations. If you cluster them around the base of a Christmas Flower or two, the added look would really tie things together. And you could add glitter to the edges of them by applying glue and then sprinkling on the glitter. If you do this over newspaper you can wrap up any mess or extras, and you won’t be finding the glitter in your eyebrows or hair or other odd places around your house, in the months to come!
And don’t forget the first few verses of the famous poem: ‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
in hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads. And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap - when out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow, gave the luster of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.
You can get your own miniature sleigh from 1-800-Flowers. Have a very merry Christmas!

Rapid Weight Loss Program Benefits
By editor on July 4, 2008
Any rapid weight loss program should be taken seriously by the user, Weight loss plans should be successful for whoever tries them but it is often the determination level of people that lets them down, There are a number of things that can affect your weight loss, some of these are listed here:
Family history Psychological stress Attitude towards improving their health
Excess weight can cause many health issues, including those of self image and worth. Losing weight can be the turning point in an overweight or obese person’s life and they can get their self-respect back and reduce the number of associated health risks. This is the reason why so many people want rapid weight loss systems, so they can start seeing results quickly but they also need support from family and friends,in addition to exercise, a healthy diet plan and probably diet supplements like fat loss 4 idiots will be required as well. A healthy nutritious diet will provide energy to carry out the exercise which in turn will burn off more calories,
It must be remembered that despite the number of rapid weight loss diet plans around, they will not all work with everyone that is on them, If you are not losing weight as fast as you would like, you can always change aspects of the plan you are on and adjust the amount of exercise you carry out each day but you will know your body and limitations better than anyone else. As there are many systems to choose from, if you find one isn’t working for you then change it for another as it is unreasonable to expect every diet plan to work for everyone.
Exercise programs must be suit each person so if walking is all that can be done, then walk, calories are burnt quicker with muscle that has been converted from fat, even as a result of walking, but not everyone is suited to vigorous physical exertion. Many people who are dieting forget the importance of staying hydrated,in particular with a rapid weight loss program because you need to stay hydrated and water is very good at removing unwanted toxins from the system. Avoid fat drenched deep fried foods which can also mean fish and chicken if you are eating the wrong part of the animal.
People on very low fat diets should grill the majority of their meals as much less fat is retained in the food if any at all. While some diets advocate a reduction in arbohydrates, this should be done in consultation with a nutritionist as carbohydrates are the fuel that creates the energy required for your body to function. Using a weight loss plan like this will mean that if followed correctly then around a pound a day will be lost, depending on the individual but it must be said that failure to maintain this level of 1,000 to 1,500 calories per day will ensure the weight will be put back on.

Prevention of graying and hair loss could be achieved if you use amla powder, an effective anti-oxidant and one of the richest sources of natural vitamin C. If you want a hair cleanser which cleanses without depriving your hair of its natural oils, go for Shikakai, also known as the Fruit for hair. It has a natural low pH.
